Especially for Norma Weissand and daughters, I am so sorry for this loss in your life. I remember meeting Amy a couple of times over the years. Very cheerful and such a lovely smile both times! I am sorry I did not know about her passing until Friday evening, June 28 or I would have been in church today with all of you. Reading about Amy's life and how special she was now inspires me to try harder with what life is left to me. Heaven has gained a Loving Angel. God bless and give you comfort with each other and your friends. Love and Peace, Victoria M. Peltier (Farmington, NY)

Amy was such a vibrant person. And quite a character. I have only known her a few years, but am very glad I did. I considered her a friend and will miss her dearly. Going to bingo will never be the same without her. And our euchre group called her our Sargeant-at-Arms, as she kept us all organized and the keeper of the cards. She passed that torch to me, but the group will miss her deeply. RIP Amy Weissend.

Amy was a true joy in my life. We have been friends for as long as I can remember. Life seemed to hand her some of the hardest journeys, but she took in it stride and she was always honest with me about how she was doing. We have remained friends even though my journey took me to Virginia. Amy and I spoke just a few weeks ago and she was so optimistic that she could fight this, and I felt she would have much more time. I am heartbroken that it all happened so fast. The blessing is that she is at peace, and I am eternally grateful that Amy was a big part of my journey. My love to her family. The deepest of peace always George Barry Hamann (’83)

I remember Amy when you lived in Doehaven. I had just had a new baby and Amy would could bounding up the street so she could hold her. Always so happy and joyful. Cherish the memories to all who loved her.

Amy lived in the senior apartments next to my house. Because she was often out and about, I met her outside. She always greeted me with an enthusiastic "hi," when she say me. She came over to our house on and off for backyard movie nights, campfires with a women's group, and women's group meetings at our home. Once she went to church with me; another time she went with me to a pot luck dinner; and once she assisted us with a children's Bible club at our house.
In May, I was at the hospital with my husband. I was surprised to see her walking in the hallway past the door to his room. Since I was there every day, I tried to see her every day. She was waiting for biopsy results and was happy to be going back to her apartment. I missed seeing her the day she left.
Shortly afterward my husband came home for hospice and then passed away. I heard that Amy had gone back to the hospital, with plans to stay with a relative out of town. Being caught up in funeral plans, I didn't try to contact her at that point. I am so sorry to hear that she passed away, and that I didn't get to see her one more time.
Amy was an energetic joyous person. She tried to bring joy to others through volunteering and being helpful. I am going to miss her.

We are so saddened to hear of Amy's passing. And I am very grateful that I had the chance to really get to know this special cousin through our work together at Ontario County Arts Council (where she was pretty much the "go to" person for everything). We shared much laughter, many stories, and a few heart-to-hearts. To Uncle Bruce and Aunt Betty's big, loving family -- you are a model for all of us and you are in our hearts today. -- Cousin Sue and Bill Washburn

This is a picture of Amy I took at the hospital about two weeks ago. She was very enthusiastic about her current art project.
