I am a nursing assistant at the VA where Richard resided the last few years. We learned how small of a world it was when I discovered my parents had been good friends with his cousin Phil. I really enjoyed getting to know Richard and am so sad to hear of his passing. He talked all the time about Terry and how much he loved her. My heart goes out to his family. He will be missed greatly.

I am one of the nursing staff that cared for Richard while he was at the V.A. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be one of his caregivers. I often assisted him with his meals. I will miss our "mealtime talks", I will also miss his amazing smile when he saw me coming in some mornings, During our talks whenever he talked about Therese and his family he eyes just sparkled. He was an amazing man that I won't soon forget Thanks again.

Richard was a great man who I loved like my own Dad . He had a smile that was contagious . He was a inspiration to all that knew him . He helped others in need and he was a very special person to me . I will miss him but he will always be in my heart. Richard was a light in a world that is full of darkness. He touched many lives and made a impact that will stay with those who knew him . I have many fond memories of Richard aka. DAD each one is very special to me .

It’s sad to say goodbye Richard. You were the best brother-in-law anyone could ask for. You were always there to help when needed. Even though we couldn’t see you much these last couple years you will always be remembered and in our hearts ♥️
