Obituary of Timothy J. Mintel

Timothy J. Mintel Canandaigua - It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy James Mintel on March 5, 2022. Tim was a kind and gentle soul and will be deeply missed by many. Tim was born on January 29, 1957 in Canandaigua, New York. He was the son of the late Ernest and Emily Mintel. He was also predeceased by his brother, Thomas. Tim graduated from Canandaigua Academy, Class of 1975. While at the Academy, Tim was a member of the lacrosse team. Upon graduation, he attended Finger Lakes Community College prior to serving in the US Navy. Tim worked at Labelon for many years, serving as shop foreman until their closure in the early 2000s. Following his tenure at Labelon, Tim worked for Ontario County ARC for 18 years, acting as caregiver and mentor to residents in several homes. Anyone knowing Tim knew of his love for The Beatles. The Beatles were a constant in his life. The songs will forever evoke a memory of Tim. He especially found the lyrics and musicality of John Lennon to be very profound. “Imagine” and “The Long and Winding Road” were among his favorites. Tim was an animal enthusiast. He loved his household pets, starting at a young age with his Basset Hound, Pedro. Tim supported Lollypop Farm and Happy Tails, trying to make life better for his furry friends. Tim is survived by his brother John (Susan), and his niece and nephews, Sarah(Will) Femec, Benjamin(Gigi Heusler) Mintel, and Michael Mintel. He was also very delighted to be the great-uncle of Nora Femec and Sierra Heusler-Mintel. Each member of the family was proud to be related to Tim. He also had many friends that will surely miss his kind heart and quick wit. A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
