Obituary of Verna Sayers

Verna Sayers Canandaigua, NY Verna Sayers, age 73, of Canandaigua, passed away September 12, 2010. She was the daughter of Robert and Eleanor Sayers of Niagara Falls. She is survived by her four children; Ken (Patty) Hauenstein, Jim (Lois) Hauenstein, Karl (Margaret) Hauenstein, and Gail (Tim) Gemmell, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Vera’s careers involved bookkeeping and accounting. She had been employed by Wayne County Department of Social Service, retiring five years ago at the age of 67. As her children became grown and independent, Verna explored a variety of passions such as; kayaking, knitting, hiking, reading, and geology. She shared these passions with her grandchildren, adventures that will be their cherished thoughts of her. Verna was very interesting, comforting, and fun to talk to. Verna’s wish was to donate her body for medical research. There will be no services held. Donations in Verna’s memory may be made to Rochester Celiac Support Group, P.O.
