Obituary of Sandra K. Ricciotti
Sandra Ricciotti, 85, passed away peacefully April 29, 2024 in Avon, NY.
She is predeceased by her husband Frank, parents Frank and Clara (Spade) Salansky, Aunt and Uncle Joseph and Margaret Salansky, brothers Robert, James and Charles, grandson Anthony Ricciotti.
Sandra is survived by her children, Cynthia (Tom) Mason, Frank (Lorraine), Joseph, Thomas (Nicole), nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother William and sister Patricia Violas.
Sandy (Sanka) was born in Newark, NY but moved to Canandaigua during childhood. She graduated from Canandaigua Senior Academy High School. She met the love of her life Frankie, at the age of 16. They were married for 64 years. She was a stay-at-home mom to her four children while babysitting several others and being the local "Avon Lady". It was no surprise she was the #1 salesperson in the district. When her children were older, she worked at the Finger Lakes Racetrack as a ticket agent. Following that she spent her remaining years at the VA Hospital, Canandaigua until retirement at age 62.
She was active in St. Mary's school, St. Mary's festival and never missed a CA Braves Wrestling Match. She was in a Dance Club, Bridge Card Club and a member of the St Vincent De Paul Society where she spent most of her time volunteering. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canandaigua.
Sandy doted over her grandchildren and never missed their events. She had two favorite pastimes; dancing with her husband and the New York Yankees! She was the biggest Yankee fan in town and never missed a game on TV. You could also find her anywhere listening to games on her Walkman dressed in Yankee gear. She was a bubbly, energetic social butterfly who loved life. An amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend with a sense of humor that could startle anyone. She is now joined with her soul mate in heaven but will be deeply missed by all of us that love her.
A funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 6, 11:30AM at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St. Canandaigua. A graveside service will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
