Obituary of Robert J. Erdle

Canandaigua – Robert J. Erdle, age 84, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024. He is survived by his three children Timothy Erdle, Kevin (Veronica) Erdle, and Sally Erdle; their mother Kathryn Erdle; granddaughter Valerie Sprague. He was predeceased by ten siblings, Edward, Carl, James, John, Leo, Gerald, Morris and Marian Erdle, Genevieve Christiansen and Jean Langbein. Robert 'Bob' was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1958. He worked with his brothers Jim and Jerry for many years at Kwik Kafe, a vending machine business. He also worked as a USPS rural carrier, and as a C.N.A. at the VA Hospital. Bob enjoyed restoring antique tractors and a 1928 Chevrolet AB Sedan, hunting and bowling. He was a member of the New York Steam Engine Association and enjoyed the Pageant of Steam every August where he ran his 1912 Eli Baler during the baling demonstration. Bob was a lifelong member of Saint Mary's Church in Canandaigua and was an usher for many years. Bob was also a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge. There will be no calling hours. A Mass will be held Tuesday, July 16, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua. Donations may be made to The Arc Ontario, 3071 County Complex Drive, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
