Obituary of Frank L. Ricciotti Jr.
Frank Ricciotti, 91, passed away January 15, 2024, at FF Thompson Hospital.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary (LeGrett) Ricciotti; brother, Phil Ricciotti, sisters, Lena Barnum, Katie Coleates, Genevieve Minute, Frances Musolino, Margie Everett and grandson, Anthony Michael Ricciotti
Frank is survived by his wife, Sandra, children, Cynthia (Tom) Mason, Joseph, Frank (Lorraine), Thomas (Nicole), nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters Yolanda Sears, Betty Holland, Josie Welsh, Stella Furfure.
Frank served as a Corporal in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean War. One of 12 children, he left serving his country after two years to help his mother at home.
He met Sandra Kay Salansky in a bowling alley when she was just 16 and not allowed to date. It was love at first sight. He found her again when she was 18 and married her three years later. They were happily married for 64 years.
He was a plumber by trade and worked 29 yrs. at Stromberg-Carlson Corporation, Rochester NY. Hard working and loyal with barely a sick day, he worked until the company closed its doors in 1985. He spent the next 10 years in civil service at the VA Hospital, Canandaigua before his retirement at age 62. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and parishioner of St. Mary's Church.
Frank and Sandra spent their young years in a ballroom dance club. They could be seen dancing at every event well into their 80’s. They were the first on the dance floor and the very last to leave.
He was a loving husband, father, godfather and grandfather. He was a kindhearted friend to so many in town and never missed a party. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Friends may call Sunday, January 21, from 1-4 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. An 11 AM funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 22, at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St. Canandaigua.
