Obituary of Carol Castner

Carol M. Castner, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully, at age 84, on June 18, 2023. Carol was a graduate of Saint Mary's Catholic School and Canandaigua Academy class of 1957. Carol retired from the Ontario County Department of Social services after 38 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. In past years she enjoyed cooking and hosting numerous family gatherings for her large family. Carol was an avid knitter and reader. Carol was predeceased by her parents Casto and Grace Martino, her husband Calvin Castner, her sister Marion Benson and granddaughter, Jami Uhl. She survived by her daughters Patricia (Scott) Holmes, Jodi (Ron) Cooley, Laurie McKnight; and sons Jeffrey (Jackie) Uhl and Michael Castner; grandchildren Shane (Anne) Holmes, Brittany (Cody) Carmichael, Joshua (Charity) Uhl, Carrie Bellis, David (Holly) Cooley, Krysten McKnight, Patrick (Savannah) McKnight, Kourtney McKnight, Kiara Pabon and Kenney Santiago. Great grandchildren Kian, Karter, Kaleb, Karaline Glor, Gavin Landcastle, Graciella George, Kristopher, Breeonna, Kayden and Jayden Amos, Haylee and Elisha Johnston, Tristen Weaver, Naomi Carmichael; her brother Lawrence Martino of Oklahoma, Jacqueline Smith of Canandaigua, her special niece, who was like a daughter Molly Benson of Massachusetts and many other loved nieces nephews and close friends. At Carol's request there are no formal services. A special celebration of her life will be held at CenterPointe Golf Course, Function Hall, 2231 Brickyard Road Canandaigua, NY 14424 on July 8, 2023 from 2PM until 5PM.
