Obituary of Carol H. Tolley

On April 14 Carol Henry Tolley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away far too soon and unexpectedly at the age of 68. Carol was born in San Diego, California and moved to Canandaigua New York in 1958. Carol graduated from Canandaigua Academy, CCFL, Hobart and William Smith colleges, and Nazareth. Carol had a large and generous heart, never meeting a stray she was not willing to help. She loved her family and pets immensely. Carol was a fierce advocate for the causes she believed in. She was talented at everything she tried her hand at from home construction to water color painting, arts and crafts, and any other handy task she decided to learn. Carol was a dedicated and intelligent educator, retiring after a number of years as a high school science teacher with the Rochester City School District. Carol was predeceased by her mother Patricia (Shepperd) Henry, father Cullen Ottley Henry, nephew Liam Tamayo, and close family friend George Simmons. Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years David and their children; daughter Maggie Tolley and her husband Brian Bellis, son Nathaniel (Than) Tolley, his wife Courtney Nemeth, and their son Ryatt, daughter Liz Harrington and her husband Ron Harrington, their daughter Ayla and son Noah, who was Carol's closest and dearest friend. Carol is also survived by her three sisters Barb (Joe) Schoenborn, Joan Dubowyk, Jan Tamayo, her nieces, nephews, cousins, cats, and many friends, both lifelong and new. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 PM on Thursday, April 20, at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A Celebration of Life be held Saturday, April 22, from 12-4 PM at Onanda Park, Crouch Pavilion, 4965 Co. Rd. 16, Canandaigua.
