She was my role model. The first of a generation of independent women who were The Greatest Generation. Red was off in the service. She had her first child and he didn’t see his father til he was 1-1/2 years old. She was of tough Nordic Stock, but also very soft and sweet. She knew what she wanted and didn’t back down. My dear friend of 58 years- a lifetime of memories. I’ll miss our Sunday afternoon chats. Things always seemed better after our chats. But I know you needed to be with Russ, and Red, and Sonnie, and the others. Rest easy, dear Darline.
