Obituary of Ruth A. Aikey
On March 11th, 2023, Ruth Aikey passed away at the young age of 83.
Ruth was raised in Shortsville and then moved to Hopewell where she raised her 7 children. She retired from Wise Die-casting.
Ruth was predeceased by her son Douglas and granddaughter Sara.
She is survived by her children Robin (Norm) Church, Dennis (Jackie Garno) Aikey, Howard (Manina) Aikey, Kevin (Sandy Davidson) Aikey, and Rick Aikey; brother, Ronnie (Carol) Hadden; 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Ruth endured many trials and tribulations throughout the course of her life and remained humble through it all. She was a thoughtful and caring person who was loved by all that knew her. She enjoyed her nights out dancing with friends, coffee, playing cards, going to dinner, the occasional slow gin fizz and a marshmallow sundae.
Calling hours will be held at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua, Friday, March 24th from 11:00am-1:00pm, followed by a funeral service and burial at Pioneer Cemetery, Dewey Rd. Shortsville, reception immediately following at Moose Club, Ontario St. Canandaigua.
