Obituary of Deloris M. Schenk Goodrich
Deloris (Laurie) Schenk-Goodrich, 91, of Bloomfield, New York, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 13th, 2022 in Canandaigua New York.
Laurie was born in Eden, New York, to John and Marjorie Tiberio on September 3rd, 1931. She grew up in South Bristol, New York, and attended Naples Central School. Following high school Laurie married Stuart Schenk and they started their family.
Laurie attended Continental School of Beauty in Rochester, New York and ran a hair salon in her home. She and her husband Stuart owned and operated Duflinks ice cream store as well as an excavating and paving company, John Tiberio Inc. She always enjoyed cooking and ran a catering business called Lorimel Catering. Traveling was one of Laurie's interests and she worked as a travel agent for several years. Laurie's last career was working as a realtor for Nothnagle Realtors in Canandaigua.
Laurie spent much of her life serving others. She served as a Sunday school teacher at Bristol Springs Church as well as Crosswinds Wesleyan Church. She was a ministry partner at Crosswinds, taking six mission trips to Ecuador. She was actively involved in Ontario County Habitat for Humanities for many years. She volunteered in her grandchildren's classrooms for many years. She was a member of the guest services team at Crosswinds as well, serving as an usher and greeter.
Laurie was an accomplished piano player. She performed at competitions, church services, funerals, weddings, and other places such as Granger Homestead and Sonnenberg Gardens as well as local senior living facilities. Laurie was also a member of Crosswinds Bell Choir and played piano as part of the worship team for many years. She enjoyed traveling and taking trips with her family. She spent her free time painting, playing card games, putting puzzles together, and enjoying nature. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Laurie attended Crosswinds Wesleyan Church for over 50 years.
Laurie is predeceased by her husband's Stuart Schenk and Roy Goodrich, and her brother Richard Tiberio.
Laurie is survived by her children; Lorraine (Terry) McDonough, Michael (Mary Jane) Schenk, Jeffrey (Lisa) Schenk, and Kimberly (Greg) Joseph. She leaves behind five grandchildren; Alexandra Schenk, Anastasia McDonough, Maxim McDonough, Morgan (Tyler) Campbell, and Madison Joseph. Step-grandchildren Natasha (James) Taylor, Trina Solea and their families. She is also survived by her siblings; Robert Tiberio, Janis Huckabone, and Phyllis Harring.
A service celebrating her life will be held at Crosswinds Wesleyan Church (3360 Middle Cheshire Rd, Canandaigua, New York, 14424) on December 9th, 2022 at 11am. Burial services will be held privately.
Memorial donations may be made to Kingdom Advancement Fund at Crosswinds Wesleyan Church or Ontario County Habitat for Humanity.
