To Judy, Mike, Kelly, David, Colby and all of the Smith family... We were so very sorry to hear of the passing of your loving husband/father/grandfather. My dad used to tell the best stories, peppered with the nick names of buddies like "Half Pint" and "Mutt" Coyne, about growing up in Canandaigua in the 50s and I always thought we were so lucky to all be connected to each other in that way. The Geneccos and the Smiths go back a long way and will continue on with little Frankie and Joey! You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Know that he was loved, and will be missed by so many in our community.
With our sincere condolences,
Terese "Terri" Genecco & Shaynee Rainbolt

Judy, David, Kelly and Mike,
I have so manny memories of Half Pint, as most will call him, but more of a man than many will know. His strength was not just in muscles but power of will and might. You’ve lost your husband and father, we’ve all lost a real friend.
Beyond our memories of Washington St live lasting impressions he left to all. He’s with his other friends and family, out of pain and suffering. Half was a man’s man, doing it his way.
Due to sickness I couldn’t attend to tell you all I love you,
Always will,
Forever…Mollie Coe

Sorry for your loss. "Half" did a lot for the city of Canandaigua and it's youth. I remember he ref'd basketball games at St. Mary's when I played there. A great man. May God Bless and watch over you all.

Thoughts and prayers to the family of "Half Pint" Smith
My father, the late Harlan Munn, long time teacher and coach in the Finger Lakes, student taught at Canandaigua under Mrs. Pierce but had coached the Canandaigua Jr High team with Clarence Aikey.
He always spoke highly of Half Pint.
Sorry to hear of his passing but obviously a life well lived.
Sincerely,
Coach Tim Munn

What can you say objectively about This Guy... a friend, mentor, teammate, and A Positive Role Model for all who knew him! "Half Pint", in nickname only...this man was a Giant in Canandaigua Athletics!! Totally non-self-serving, compassionate, understanding, and a Leader. So sadly missed, but so 'Glad I knew Ya'... my sincere condolences to Judy and the entire Family.

I have known Ron Smith almost all my life. He was a wonderful man and I would bet that there isn't a person on earth that could say a bad word about him.
His last few years at Centerpointe were great! He always had a kind word, a joke or and calming thing to say.
Judy was the love of his life. He was always quick to tell us about her and the family.
God has received a wonderful addition to his heavenly family. Our deep loss will be his grateful gain.
Rest in Peace my friend!
