Obituary of Claire L. Maney

Claire L. Maney (Monahan) passed away on March 28, 2022 at the age of 91. Claire is survived by her children Richard (Sandra) Monahan, Colleen (Wayne) Smith, Michael Monahan, Mary Ellen (Don), Kenny, Kathleen Palmer, Barbara (Tim) Spenner, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Claire was predeceased by her parents, Leo G. and M. Geraldine LeFrois, sisters Elaine Deel and Joanne Leap, brother Robert LeFrois, and husbands Richard E. Monahan and Charles R. Maney. Claire was born in Rochester, NY on May 21, 2030 and attended high-school at Nazareth Academy. She graduated from Niagara University with a B.S. in Nursing. While raising her family, Claire worked as a private duty nurse and later worked at the Canandaigua V.A. where she retired. Claire loved to swim, travel, garden and most importantly, spend time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. Children held a special place in Claire's heart and she had a magical gift with babies. The family would like to extend special thanks to Caryl Lane, who was Claire's very dear friend and longtime caregiver. In addition, many thanks to the staff at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center for their devotion to Claire. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
