Obituary of Marian L. Jensen

Marian L. Jensen Canandaigua- Marian L. Jensen, age 94, of County Road 8, died Monday, December 20, 2021. A native of Hall, NY and Chapin NY, Marian was the daughter of John E. and M. Ione (Wheeler) Tears. Marian was the widow of PFC Beck H. Jensen a Marine Corp veteran of WWII and has remained at this same address since her marriage in 1946. She was a professional waitress until her retirement at the age of 75. She held this position at numerous top eateries including the Canandaigua Hotel, and Holloway House of Bloomfield. Marian was a motorcycle enthusiast who was very proud of being a "biker". She was a member of the Motor Maids Inc. motorcycle club which required ownership of their own motorcycle. She was very proud that she had made many cross country motorcycle trips including two (2) trips to California, one by the northern route and one by the southern route. Marian is a direct descendent of Philip Cody of Beverly, MA who had settled in Massachusetts in the year 1698. Philip Cody was the great grandfather of Lydia Cody Newcomb and of Col. William F. (Buffalo Bill) Cody. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Cowell of Palmyra, Terry (Ron) Pitts of Lisbon, Pat (Tom) Erb of Canandaigua, Janet Jensen of North Chili, and Cindy (Keith) Murphy of Canandaigua, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Beck, an infant daughter, Kathleen, and an infant granddaughter, Janelle Murphy. She was well loved by her family and friends, giving back unconditional love to many, sharing her wisdom and advise when asked but always retaining a child's spirit of fun, exploration, imagination, all with a mischievous or with a "Tehehe 'I got you'" attitude. There will be a "Celebration of Life" on January 22, 2022, starting at 3 p.m. at the Jensen Family Home at 1945 County Road 8 with private burial held at Woodlawn Cemetery by Fuller Funeral Home later in the week. Remembrances and contributions in Marian's memory may be made to the "Happy Tails Animal Shelter" at the Ontario County Humane Society.
