Obituary of Robert D Swedenhjelm

Canandaigua, NY- Robert D. Swedenhjelm, 63, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 11, 2020. Robert Swedenhjelm (Bob) was born in Niagara Falls, NY and spent his childhood years in Buffalo, NY. Bob attended the Rochester Institute of Technology for film and later relocated to Canandaigua, NY to be with his significant other of 28 years, Lori Stahlman. Bob will be forever remembered and missed by his two sons; Rikki Swedenhjelm (Shar) and Jeff Swedenhjelm, his step-daughter Haley Vanderhoof (Ryan), and grandchildren (Riley, Evan, Faith and Ava). Bob is survived by his brothers; Tim Swedenhjelm (Kris), Steven Pietrzyk (Jodi) and Brian Pietrzyk, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob was a self-proclaimed "MacGyver" a man capable of fixing anything and solving any problem. He never hesitated to offer a helping hand or come to the rescue of others. Bob was a talented and passionate member of our local film community; having worked on several movies, commercials, music videos, and various projects. He will be deeply missed by his close knit friends in the industry. Bob was what you might call a "Talker" he never seemed to run out of stories and he could hold a conversation on pretty much any topic you could imagine. He was smart, quick-whited, and he had the best laugh. Maybe it was in the stories he told or the way he lived his life, but his family was pretty certain he was invincible right up until the day God called him home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date determined by the family. The family would like to welcome all to share with us your fondest memories of Bob.
