Sandra A. Metz “Sandy”

Sandy Metz, 74, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away suddenly on October 4, 2019 at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY.

Sandy was born in White Plains, NY on January 12, 1945 to LeRoy and Anne Little. A member of Canandaigua Academy’s class of 1963, Sandy retired from Xerox in 2008, after more than 20 years of service to the company. Prior to her experience at Xerox, Sandy managed the office of the former McMillan Realty and Sail Realty.

Her family and friends will remember her for her intelligence, her wit, and her candor. She cared deeply for her friends and family and would sacrifice anything she could to ensure that those around her were happy and successful. Sandy greatly enjoyed helping others, even those she did not know and would spend time making blankets, scarves, and hats for those in need.

Sandy is predeceased by her parents, LeRoy and Anne Little. She is survived by her husband of almost 44 years, Robert, children Tina, Michael, and Tabitha, brothers Lee (Ellen) Little, of Pittsford, Ron Little of Madeira Beach, Florida, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery at the discretion of the family and a celebration of her life will be held privately by her family.

Her family would like to offer their profound thanks to the staff of Thompson Hospital’s Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit for providing such wonderful care of not just Sandy, but the family as well. Their kindness, compassion, and humor during such a difficult time will not soon be forgotten.

Sandy’s family asks that a donation in her memory be made to the American Diabetes Association.
