Obituary of David A. Jacobs
David Jacobs, loving father and husband passed away at the age of 72, less than a month before his 73'rd birthday. David Passed at Thompson Hospital on 6-2-2019, but was not alone. Many friends and Family continually visited David through the short period of time from his admittance to his passing. David touched many lives, especially those of his family; his loving wife, Mary, and his sons, Jeff (Katrina), Tyler & Shane Jacobs, stepchildren Terri Stines (David Merkley), Adam Jermyn (Alexys Pentycofe). Grandchildren, Julia & Elise Stines, Eric Jacobs and Sister. Judie DiNapoli.
David's death was sudden and unforeseen, but his life will go on in each and every one of the people he met through his life. Be it his family or one of the hundreds of skiers he helped up Bristol Mountain during the winter. David could be found tending his home during the summer, fixing and tinkering about, always playing fetch with the dog, and relaxing in the gazebo in the evenings. David was quite the handyman; he was an HVAC tech by trade but was also adept in carpentry and aeromechanics.
David constructed a treehouse for his sons, a gazebo for his wife, and a playhouse for his grandchildren. All beautiful works of art have stood the testament of time and will live on as we remember him.
David was also a wonderful musician, playing in a country music band for what must have been well over a decade. He had quite a singing voice as well, and drew country music fans young and old to every location he appeared, especially the barn dances. The most notable of these was the yearly Steam Pageant held in Ontario County.
His Eldest Son, Jeffery, spent hours as a kid with David, the two would go hunting in Salamanca, something that gave David many stories to share. Jeffery also gave David a Grandson, Eric Jacobs. His stepdaughter Terri gave him two Granddaughters, Julia and Elise Stines. Visiting David's Grandchildren were one of the many prides of his life, frequently accompanying his wife to visit sporting events in which the grandchildren participated, or taking them to movies. Wherever David is now, he is no doubt watching over each and every one of them.
David enjoyed fishing with his youngest son, Shane, and the two would spend hours at Canandaigua Lake relaxing by the water. The two enjoyed woodworking together and Shane allowed David to enjoy the crafty side of himself.
David's middle child, Tyler, frequented his father for car advice and the two spent many hours tinkering with their vehicles. David owned a Jeep wrangler and taught Tyler how to drive stick-shift before he could even get a license.
David will be truly missed, please join his family in celebrating his life Sunday June 16 at 3pm. at King's Catering 4031 NY 5&20 Canandaigua NY 14424.
