Obituary of Caryl Favro
Caryl A. Cocco- Favro-
BRISTOL: Called home by her loving God on April 25, 2019 with her family at her side. Caryl is survived by her devout husband of 57 years Alden Favro Jr. and three children Al, Matthew (Nicole) and Marisa Geitner (Kurt Hoffman).
Caryl spent her life in service to others. She was a founding member of the Bristol Volunteer Rescue Squad serving as one of its first EMT’s. Soon after utilizing her skills as a trainer, educating over three decades of EMT’s for our community eventually serving as one of the first medics on Medic 60 before joining Thompson Hospital as an emergency room Technician. Caryl has been honored as a lifetime member of the Bristol VFD. Her service life also extended to her faith community St. Bridget Church where she most recently served as an extraordinary minister of holy communion and a volunteer for The Blessing Room, initiating the mobile food pantry for our community. She delivered for meals on wheels and was there to help any neighbor in need, being recognized in 2018 as an Ontario County Volunteer of the Year along with her husband.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren- Courtney Soule, Coty Soule, Addilys Geitner, Patrick Geitner, Leigh Ann Favro, Alyssa Favro, Riley Favro and Conlan Favro. Her godsons Tom Cocco (Melissa), Floyd Johnson IV and Tim Lovell (Katie) and her extended family Lorenzo Fiorini (Elisa & Beatrice) and DeeDee Blanding Nesmith (Darryl).
Per Caryl’s wishes there will be no prior callings hours. Friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass which will be celebrated Monday morning at 11 at St. Bridget’s Church, Church St., Bloomfield and burial will be in St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
