Obituary of Charles Vandy

PALMYRA - Charles Douglas Vandy Jr., "Dude", 69, passed away on April 1, 2019, at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Dude was born in Canandaigua on March 3, 1950, to the late Charles and Pauline Davis Vandy. He was a 1968 graduate of Canandaigua Academy and had worked in the dietary department of the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua. Dude was a big time Elvis fan.  Charles was a proud member of the Turtle Clan of the Onondaga Nation.Survivors include his wife, Susette (Barnhardt) Vandy; children, Billy (Denise) Vandy, Kimberly (Joe) Encao and Lisa (Steve) Smith; grandchildren, Harley Rossi, Samantha Vandy, Meghan Smith and Ryan Smith; and sisters JoAnn Lehman and Patricia Snyder. He was predeceased by his brother Robert in 1979.Friends may call on Saturday from 3 until 6 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home Inc., 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, where services will follow at 6 o'clock.  Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery at a later date.
