Obituary of Gerald C. Seward

Gerald "Jerry" Seward Shortsville/Phelps - Jerry Seward a Navy Veteran, age 90 passed away peacefully, on Wednesday (August 29, 2018). Internment with military honors will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. Contributions may be made in Jerry's memory at Ontario/Yates Hospice. Jerry was born in Springwater and raised in Canandaigua. He was a Seaman First Class in the USNR 1945 - 1946. He retired from Wright Components. Jerry was a member of the Shortsville Turner - Schrader American Legion for over 50 years, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Canandaigua Moose Club. He was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan. Jerry loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, soft ball, bow hunting, and gardening. He is survived by his daughters Patricia Batt, Susan (James) Jabaut, Caroline (Todd) Devinney, Kathleen Seward; brother Donald (Delores) Seward; grandsons, Brian (Allison) Lazarus, William Hargrove; great grandsons, Mason Hargrove and Jackson Lazarus. He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Lena Seward; granddaughter, Jennifer Lazarus; nephew, Greg Seward and son in law, Dr. David Batt
