Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Friend
Funeral services for Ellen K. Hibbard, 74, a resident of Canandaigua, NY will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 by Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. located at 190 Buffalo Street, Canandaigua NY 14424.
Ellen went home to be with the Lord and reunite with her beloved husband of 48 years, Rhuel "Butch" Hibbard, on November 18, 2017.
Ellen passed away at her residence amongst family and friends with loving support. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and beloved husband.
She is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Sons: James (Diane), Joseph (Susan), Rhuel “Butch”. Daughter: Robyn (Glenn). Grandchildren: Tina (Corey), Joseph, Tara (Jessica), Ciara (Samuel), Nicholas, Jesse, Reese, and Anna. Great Grandchildren: Xander, Xavier, and Elliot. Several nieces and nephews.
At her request friends may call on Saturday November 25, from 11a.m. to noon. A noon memorial service will follow proceeded by interment in Sand Hill Cemetery.
Ellen was a very busy woman maintaining an immaculate and organized household despite raising four time-consuming children. She had a talent to keep the families busy schedule on track, putting out fires along the way. She even made sure her children did not miss the morning school bus while her husband was insisting to teach them Morse code over breakfast.
She always made arrangements to entertain and visit with her many friends. The aromas of home cooked meals, and daily baked goods overwhelmed sensations of all who gathered.
Ellen trailed along on her husband’s outdoor adventures of camping, hunting, fishing, and canoeing. She patiently gained knowledge from her husband about anything and everything, including cedar wax wings.
Ellen could usually be located with friends at the local Bingo Hall, or off relishing over the latest and greatest craft project.
Never let Ellen’s short statue fool you as her little legs could catch up with you in a wink of an eye. Her tiny hands could always provide a quiet ‘pinch” as she smiled to keep her children well behaved in a shopping store. She was fortunate enough to be able to purchase children’s sneakers, and her favorite pair
bore the image of “Kermit the Frog” on the soles.
Ellen’s grace, devotion, dignity, caring ways, and “Fire Cracker” personality will greatly be missed by all who have had the honor to meet her.
