Obituary of Frank L. Pontera Sr.

Frank Louis Pontera peacefully passed away on October 5th 2017 surrounded by his family.   Frank was a long time resident of Canandaigua and held the honorary title of Mayor of Holiday Lane. Frank was an active member of the community and involved with several group activities.  He is survived, and will be sorely missed, by his loving wife of 67 years, Ruth, his four children, Michael (Lisa), Frank, Jr. (Debbie), Susan (Nick) Valvano, David (Rebecca), Grandchildren, Kelly and Michael Pontera, Ashley and Daniel Pontera, Michael and Christy Valvano, and David Joseph (DJ) and Jadon Pontera.  Frank is also survived by his devoted brother and sister, James (Kathy) Pontera, and JoAnne Pontera Forbes of Miami, Florida. Friends may call on Monday  from 4-7 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo Street, Canandaigua, NY, 14424.   A mass will be held in celebration of Frank's life at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday at 11:30 am.   Internment immediately following the mass at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made in Frank's name to St. Mary's Church, Canandaigua, NY, 14424.
