Pat Boland has been on my mind for several days " I have been thinking I should just go over to "her house" and say hello as her friend from the past. Now I am so sad that I waited to say "hello". I am so sorry for her family that they had to say goodbye to Pat, their Mom and I am sure confidant...I was Pat's FSBO real estate agent and sold her beautiful pastry shop in Canandaigua to the the new owners of Casa de pasta. Pat was NOT happy with real estate agents so I had to convince her to "just give me 3 days" on her listing contract. It all came together easily for Pat and she got the price she wanted. I was so happy. In the circle of time...20 years later Pat Boland and her son bought 16 Broad St. Clifton Springs The same house I use to live in with my family before I moved to Canandaigua. Pat you are on my mind you became a friend of mine and I want you to know I am still thinking of you...carolann williams

Pat was a good friend since grammar school at Holy Redeemer. We have kept in touch over the years. She had health problems for the last few years and now she will be resting in peace. God Bless you, Pat.

Sending my condolences to the whole family.Mrs Boland was a great lady.I remember that she had an easy way about her,but know that she was a force to be reckoned with when it came to things she felt strongly about.Canadaigua was blessed to have her on its side.I can't imagine what the city would look like today without her vision.
I hope that you find comfort in the thought of her with your Dad again.

Katie and all the Boland family so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. My childhood holds many fond memories shared with your family. It has been years since I have seen her but she always would stop and chat with me if I happen to see her around Canandaigua. She was a rare and wonderful woman and we have lost a great lady. Will always remember her fondly. Janet (Carr) Johnston

I am so sad to hear of Pat's passing. She was unique individual and a true humanist and feminist who held the well being of her fellow human beings paramount. I had the good fortune to work with Pat at the Ontario County Historical Museum from 1978-1983, having come there as a SETA worker. I was her education dept. assistant. Knowing Pat was life changing. I would say that what Pat exposed me to in terms of architectural history, something I had never been aware of before, added an awareness and a depth of appreciation of my environment that I have carried on since. She also expanded my awareness of the Native American history that is at the foundation of our community. Together we developed a puppet show for local school children that illuminated the Legend of Bear Hill. We created local history lending boxes for classroom teachers. Pat organized a wildly successful Ontario county ethnic history exhibit (there were two versions- the first examined the Irish and Italian immigrant history of Ontario county and the second the African American and Puerto Rican history). She was undaunted. Her creativity and sense of purpose and confidence was so inspiring. When she had a vision of something, she followed it through. I am sorry that in recent years I only saw her once- She will always be someone I hold as one of my mentors. The world was lucky to have had her. I am holding her family in my heart.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Pat was a dear friend and political colleague since 1979. We shared many years working together on City Council, campaigning, fund raising for the Hold Your Horses Campaign, and having a lot of fun. I remember stopping in to La Charcuterie , Gerry and Pat's wonderful gourmet deli, every Friday night in the 80's as well as many St. Patrick Day feasts. She was a wonderful friend, a beloved Mayor and I will miss her. Kathryn Hoekelman Wissler
