Obituary of Carolyn O'Connor

CAROLYN "LYNN" O'CONNOR CANANDAIGUA: Carolyn Louise O'Connor passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Thompson Hospital. Lynn was born in Auburn on March 14, 1932 to the late Robert W. and Amelia (Kunkel) Knight. She was a graduate of Mynderse Academy (Class of 1950)and received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from SUNY Potsdam in 1954 and later her Masters in Music Education from SUNY Oswego. She taught in Phoenix, NY, Campus School at SUNY Geneseo and the Canandaigua City School District. After retirement, she delivered Meals of Wheels and was a member of the Executive Board of NYSUT Retiree Council Ed. #6 and NYSTRA. She is survived by a daughter Barbara (Steve) LaCrosse, 2 grandsons, Thomas & Daniel LaCrosse, a sister Jane Sturgis, and a brother James (Sandi) Knight. She is also survived by her in-laws Helen (Alex) Viola, Jim (Doretta O'Connor, Ginny Mossgraber and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. O'Connor. The family would like to thank the staff at Quail Summit and at Thompson Hospital for the compassionate care shown to Lynn. A graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
