I became a believer early in my junior year at Syracuse University in 1972. A few months earlier, I had received a copy of the New Testament while a student at Paul Smith's College (NY) and had read most of it by the time I transferred to Syracuse. While at SU, I went to a Campus Crusade meeting and committed my life to the Lord. But it was through reading the Scriptures, that prepared my heart for making that decision at SU.
During the '72-'73 school year, Henry and Helene came to SU to do a Bible distribution through their ministry, Operation Campus. Because I personally saw how reading the Scriptures could prepare one's hearts to receive the Lord, I was very excited to be part of their outreach and started supporting their work financially.
For the past 43 years, I have been in ministry; 26 years with Campus Crusade and 17 years with a ministry to media execs (in LA and NYC) called Mastermedia Int'l. It all started because of receiving a copy of the Scriptures.
How many other lives were touched by Henry's and Helene's dedication to distributing the Scriptures, only the Lord knows. But I know they both are receiving their rich reward in heaven because of their faithful ministry.
