My most sincerest condolences to all of the friends and family of this special soul who was taken too soon. I can not imagine the grief that surrounds you at this time from his sudden and unexpected departure. Please try to take solace in the idea that in spirit he can now be with you always.
Everywhere you are, now he is there too, watching over each of you with ultimate love and light and the guiding force of the Almighty. No longer shall suffering be a stone along his path. He is free and I believe wants nothing more than for each of you to smile once again, enjoy and have gratitude for your remaining time on earth and remember him with a fondness and love in your hearts as he patiently awaits a time when you will reunite.
May you feel comforted in this time of loss and hold dear the sweet gift of the memories you have with our dear brother, Gary. Blessings. M. Sutta

Dawn and Shannon. I know this is such a difficult time for you. Gary has always been a giving person, of his stories, his time and his wisdom. He has always had the best interest of others first. The scouting community has lost a great man. We send prayers to you both.
Sincerely, Kim and George Stanton

Dear Dawn, Shannon and family members,
Bev and I want to express our condolences to you. We are so sorry that we will not be present for either the calling hours or the service for Gary. We will be traveling in the south.
Gary made an indelible impression on my life as the pastor of Canandaigua First, and even since. I consider him to be one of the bright lights of our church family who had the heart of a servant. Whether he was serving as Chef Gary, a Boy Scout Leader, a media person, Santa Claus, or in one of the other ways Gary served the Lord and the Church, he did so with grace and humor. Gary was one sensitive man of God and loved people. He was one of those persons/threads who made the redemptive fabric of First UMC so beautiful. We will miss him and will continue to pray for your comfort, strength and even joy as you remember the wonderful husband, dad, family member and friend he was to so many.
Love, Jeff and Bev Crawford

St. John Cassian once wrote: The bond between friends cannot be broken by chance; no interval of time or space can destroy it. Not even death itself can part true friends.
Gary has been a good friend of mine since 1971, and will be my friend as long as I live. We, who met at Geneseo, all express our deepest condolences to Dawn and Shannon and to the rest of Gary's family. We miss him already. and the next time we golf together, I look forward to raising a toast in his honor. My God Bless.
