Obituary of Elaine E. Gillmor

Elaine E, Gillmor Canandaigua- Elaine E. Gillmor, 83, passed away on January 4, 2016 at F. F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was born July 6, 1932 in Canandaigua. She was predeceased by her parents, Ethel and Wilbur 'Barney' Hurlbutt, and her step-father Harold 'Squirt' Babbitt. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jim Gillmor, her children, Debbie (Ted) Gillmor-Mroz, Vicki Gillmor (Terry McLaughlin), Scott (Lynn) Gillmor, her three grandchildren, Kyle, Justin, and Kaitlyn Gillmor, and her sister and best friend, Glenda (Charles) Dutcher. Elaine went to High School in Gorham and graduated in 1950. She went on to earn a Hairdressing License at Harper Method in Rochester, in 1951, and was a hairdresser in Canandaigua for 44 years. She was known for her legendary head massage/shampoo. She was a Grange member for many years and enjoyed family gatherings, her garden, sewing, and Square Dancing. She was kind and selfless with an ever present smile and a warm touch. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she never missed an opportunity to be a part of their lives. Family was everything to Elaine and Elaine was everything to her family, and they will carry her in their hearts forever. Friends may call Saturday, January 9, from 9:30 am-12 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 12 pm funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
