Saturday, April 11, 2009
The AHS Class of 1950 would like to express their deepest sympathy to Leon's family. Althea was our classmate and Leon would bring her to our get-togethers when she was able to come. We considered Leon one of us. Marilyn Colantonio & Carol Rowcliffe - Class of 1950

Words cannot adequately express how much he will be missed at Hill Haven. He, and, Althea have been part of our family for nearly six years. He brought to the residents, and, staff his warmth , compassion, and, his wonderful smile. He gave to so many, but, wanted nothing in return. He enjoyed life to the fullest and taught us how precious every day is. I will hold close to my heart so many fond memories of the visits we had, and, the laughs we shared. He was our angel on earth, and is now, our ANGEL forever.

Leon- The Cania Family will miss you. You were one of the first to welcome us when we moved to the neighborhood 12 years ago, you had a beautiful gift for Ellie when she was born, and you celebrated Blake's HS graduation with us. I will always remember our chats "Wilson-style" over the fence. And the kids will always remember the GIANT candy bars at halloween. Thank you for being a special person and for touching each of our lives in a special way. God bless you, my friend.

Leon Grasby, the Mayor of Whitebrook Rise. Leon was not just my neighbor, he was my friend. I will miss the chats with Leon on his side of the hedge or fence and I on the other. Leon made me feel like an adopted son. When he would call and ask if I could help him with some chores, I knew it would lead to us enjoying a beer together on his porch. His stories were always very interesting. I thank him for his friendship, will miss him and will forever cherish the memories.

I have been Leon's next door neighbor for 10 years. We shared many good times and he was a wonderful person. I nicknamed him "Wilson" because of the hedges that we talked over quite often. The hedges that he trimmed as often as possible, until it became too much for him and Jim pitched in to keep them the way Leon wanted. I will miss him.
