FRANCIS DeWIND "Fran" MANCHESTER: Francis DeWind, 78, of Tupper Way, died unexpectedly on September 9, 2010 at the Clifton Springs Hospital. Friends are invited to call at the Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Fran’s funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Dominic Church, Shortsville, at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Burial with military honors will be in Marion Cemetery. To express condolences or to share a memory on line please visit www.fullerfh.com. Fran was born in Clifton Springs on October 10, 1931 to the late Theofielt and Mary VanParys DeWind. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Xerox after more than twenty years of service. He was a member of St. Dominic Church and Turner-Schrader Post #34 American Legion in Shortsville and the Palmyra VFW. He and his wife, Marge, are winter residents of Bradenton, Florida where Fran was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. In 1999, he and Marge co-founded “Wayne County Days” on the west coast of Florida. He is survived by his wife Marjorie “Marge” Hermenet DeWind of Manchester, his children Richard & Pam DeWind of Barberton, OH, Victoria & Gene Mullin of Marion and Jeffrey & Debra DeWind of Newark, six grandchildren, a great granddaughter, three sisters Dorothy McWilliams of Geneva, Marion Bliek of Macedon and Betty Kouwe of Seneca Falls, two brothers Michael McGinty of Newark and Gerry DeWind of Seabring, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
