Dave will be missed by a lot of people, that was shown by the number of people paying their respects these past two days. I'm saddened that over the past few yrs I was not able to be around for support, but I know now, he is in a better place and at rest with his demons. Love you Dave, and my thoughts will always be with his family and friends.

I'm Free.
Don't grieve for me now, I'm Free. I'm following the path God laid for me.I took God's hand when I heard the call, I turned my back and left it all. I couldn't stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that place at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Ahh yes these things I too will miss. Don't be burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue greif. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, God set me free.
I hope all the pain you must have been going through has since been released. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family and friends.

Bigg Sexxxy,You were the greatest co-worker, best of a friend, realest of a person, and most giving of a heart! I knew we met each other for a reason, but I did not know that it was going to be just for a season. A friend you were until the end, but I understand that you had to go back God for He is where we began. I going to say so long and not good-bye because I know that I will be seeing you again!

"New Guy", I will forever miss you. You were one of my best friends. We had a lot of fun together and fond memories. I will never forget: When Ellen put you in Time-Out in the "naughty- chair". The "big burrito" that kept visiting between you and Moises. The famous Enright hot dog that would make us salivate and starve ourselves on nights so we could be hungry and eat more than one in the morning. When you thought the guy in the next bathroom stall was talking to you only to find out later that he was talking on his cell phone and NOT to you. The time you secretly scheduled me to sing "Mmm-Bop" and I changed the entire words to the song. I can still hear you laughing at it.
When you would look at me and say.."Hey LR, look no hands.." and you would make your cute little sound to make me crumble to the floor in laughter. How you gave me my very own ring tone of someone farting, and I waited till rounds and called you. You thought it was the patient, and the team thought it was you! When you lost so much weight and I crawled into your scrub top and we were both wearing it and walked around the unit as a two headed ICU nurse.
And most precious, how you picked up Baby Mason when he wasn't a day old yet. You will always be known to him as his "Uncle New Guy".
I have so many more memories of us being silly, sad, and happy.
I love and miss you so much. I will meet you by the light someday.
Love You New Guy
Laura and baby Mason.

Dave,
You were a gifted paramedic and a great partner. We used to have so much fun together on Medic 60...
I think about the good calls and the tough ones too, but
remember them all fondly and can't help laughing out loud
when I think about the fun we had.
As Joe and Brian have said, your compassion for your patients and anyone in need was beyond compare. You were always willing to teach me anything I wanted to know about EMS.
I still have my "Fat Guy Fly Car" hat somewhere too...
We had a stretch one summer where every Saturday we would take the flycar to Abbots we would get an MVA in Naples. It was like clockwork for a few weeks there.
How we managed to eat ice cream sundaes while driving lights and sirens down 21 south wearing white uniform shirts...while arriving clean and in less than 15 minutes I'll never know!
Thanks for being a groomsman in my wedding; Shana and I celebrated out tenth
anniversary this year. I remember how excited I was to have you meet her for the
first time. All the stories she had heard about Big Sexxy! If I wrote half of them down, Fergy would come looking for us..."You guys did what!?"
You were loved by so many people, and you will be missed.

Dave aka Big Sexxy,
I came to OCALS and was told that you would precept me. I was a preceptor so I knew what to expect..Right? Wrong! I remember one call where the patient went through about 13 EKG changes. You sat back and said..."You know what your doing. You don't need my help. I'll just keep telling you what the heart rthymn turns into". Then you spent the next ten minutes smiling at me yelling "Whoa..Look at THAT! You made everything fun. You had that gift of making people understand that they should not "Sweat the small stuff". Your big stature, big laugh and smile were dwarfed by your enormous heart. Your compassion was legendary. I already miss you and want you to know that you were loved. See ya buddy!

Bigg Sexxxy,
I met you at OCALS in 1997. Little did I realize we would end up as best friends, closer for that matter, We became a tag team of Paramedics, that the region would never dare compete with or against
As you would always say to anyone in EMS, anyone duo that wants to try an be better than us, well eat em for breakfast. Thats when I nicknamed you Bigg Sexxxy after the nWo wrestler Kevin Nash. It was a named that stuck with you the rest of your life
..I even caught myself putting Bigg Sexxxy down on patients EMS medical records where the crew names were to go.
One of my favorites was when you took Matt Sproul out on orientation with Medic-60 during the blizzard of 1999, it was about 2am, I told you to stay put at the hospital unless a call went out, I wasnt home in bed for 30 minutes and you called me screaming to get out to Charlie Ridels parking lot before you got a call or Fergie finds out. You stated the truck was stuck. When I got there, the only thing funnier than you up to your chest in snow and proclaiming you were out looking for something to eat , was the new guy Matt you had trying to shovel out the truck (which was resting on a 4 foot mound of hard packed plowed snow) with the use of a small snow brush
.yes a brush not even a shovel
..what a preceptor you were. Anyhow, that is one of hundreds of memories we had. I thank you for them, wished we could have made more of them. I never had a brother, but I feel that we were definitely that, although some would have said we were married. I could write for hours about you, so I will end it for now by saying I love you, Ill miss you, and Ill remember you 4-Life (you know the meaning of that Dave).
Your Friend Forever Brian Moore, RN, cEMT-P

Dave was a wonderful man, I am so saddened that he will no longer be with us. I remember meeting Dave in the 8th grade. We stayed friends all through high school, even though I transferred. He and his first wife were the one's that rode with me in the ambulance when I had to be transferred to Strong Hospital during my pregnancy with my youngest son. I will miss his laughter and his warm, loving & giving personality. My condolences to his family and his beautiful children.
