Canandaigua, NY
Carmelo Syracuse, formerly of East Rochester, passed away June 17, 2010.
Mr. Syracuse was a U.S. Army veteran and retiree of Eastman Kodak Company. He had a large number of interests and professions including policeman, inventor and engineer. He was especially fond of his five grandchildren.
Mr. Syracuse was predeceased by his daughter, Ann Marie Burns, and his sister, Angeline Sorrenti.
He is survived by Mary Lou, his loving wife of 61 years, son Anthony (Cynthia) Syracuse, grandchildren Karen and Emily Syracuse, Jessica and James Thomas Lewis and Kelly Burns. He is also survived by his sisters Marie Kline and Josephine Menzel, his brother Russell and several nieces and nephews.
The family expresses deep gratitude to friends, neighbors and health care providers who gave such special care.
Friends may call Monday, June 21, from 7-9 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 10:00 am memorial mass will be held Tuesday June 22 at St. Marys Church 95 N. Main St. Canandaigua. A private inurnment will be in White Haven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
