Obituary of G. Frederick Schutz

G. FREDERICK SCHUTZ "Fred" "Sarge" "Sargeant Major" "Freddie" CANANDAIGUA: Fred Schutz, 80, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2008 in the Hospice Unit of the Canandaigua V.A. Medical Center. It was Freddie's wish that there be no calling hours and no obituary in the newspaper. The reason being, Fred felt that the public testimonial dinner held in his honor last year was his "calling hours" and the newspaper article in the Daily Messenger was his "obituary". And, if you think about it, that made sense. Friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass which will be held at St. Mary's Church, North Main St., on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. A celebration of Fred's life will be held at the Canandaigua American Legion, 454 North Main St., immediately following the Mass. He will be buried in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
