Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother
CANANDAIGUA: Mary Prince, of Onnalinda Drive, died peacefully on February 16 following a long illness.
Mary was born in Canandaigua and graduated from Manchester High School in 1933. She received her teaching degree from Geneseo in 1937 and later received her bachelor's of science degree from Columbia University in New York City. She taught every grade except fourth grade in districts around New York City.
Mary enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband James Prince: her daughter and son-in-law Tom and Mary Prince Walter of Canandaigua; her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Lisa Prince of Oklahoma City, Okla; her cherished grandchildren Kristin, Andrew and Anna and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents James B. and Jessie McClouth Howland, her stepmother Nora B. Howland and her brothers Don and Richard.
There will be no prior calling hours. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 24, 2007 at St. Dominic Church, 6 Canandaigua Street, Shortsville. Interment will be held at the family's convenience in the spring in Brookside Cemetery, Shortsville.
