Of Klem Rd. Webster, entered into the presence of his Lord on January 9, 2008 at Rochester General Hospital. He was 65.
Born on October 8, 1942 in Rochester, Richard was the son of Sidney and Orpha Rhodes. A Graduate of West High School, he attended Rochester Institute of Technology and received a Bachelor's degree in history from the University of Rochester. Richard served in the US Army from 1965 1963. On April 3, 1965 he married Mary Gregory of Utica. The couple lived for nearly 40 years on the East Lake Rd. in Canandaigua. Richard was employed at Eastman Kodak for 28 years, retiring in 1991. He then worked 15 years for Chase Pitkin. Before moving to Webster Richard was a long-time member of the Canandaigua Baptist Church, serving on numerous boards and committees and teaching adult Sunday school classes. He enjoyed reading, gardening and especially being with his seven Grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife Mary and Their four children:
Heather (Charles) Holzinger of Canandaigua, Shelley(Timothy) Root of Webster; Jennifer (Andrew) Hennigan of Penfield; and David (Gladys) Rhodes of Farmington Hills, Michigan; and grandchildren Erica and Adam Holzinger, Jordan and Emily Root, and Rachel, Amanda, and Sarah Hennigan.
Richard was predeceased by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on January 12 at 11 AM. At Webster Bible Church 725 Holt Rd., Webster. A private burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua.
