Back in January 2007, my son Isaiah wrote to Mary for a grade school project. They corresponded several times. We recently went through some of his elementary paperwork and found one of the lovely notes she wrote (Gerry penned it for her). He wondered if she was still at The Meadows and asked me to find out while he's away working at scout camp (he's nearly 15 now; going into 9th grade). I'm sorry to see that she passed, but I am happy that she had such a bountiful life surrounded by so many loved ones! I will let Isaiah know that she finished her journey here. I'm sure he will be sad, but I know he'll be glad that he had the opportunity to correspond with her. May God bless you all.

Michael, Elaine, Patty, Mary Martha and Gerry,
Aunt Mary will be remembered forever, as will all the times the DeCarlos and Gormicans spent together. Seneca Lake, the milkshakes, Aunt Marys special hamburgers, and all the laughs. One memorable moment was when Aunt Mary arrived at our house somewhat upset and asked me for some Scotch tape. She said some cop gave her a speeding ticket and she ripped it up and threw it in his face, but now felt she should put it back together. She was a pistol and made us all laugh.
Gerry, you are a saint for all the time you gave your mother in last years. My condolences to you and all my cousins and their families. Regardless of age, death is always very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I loved your Mom.

Michael, Elaine, Patty, Mary Martha and Gerry...
My condolences on the passing of your mom. Having grown up 2 doors down from you on Norton St, I remember her and her loving way so well. She was always so kind to me and all the other kids in the neighborhood. We were always welcomed there. Along with "Duke", she worked hard and long to give you the best life she could. I could go on for many pages listing all the cherished memories I have of her and your dad. Suffice it to say, she was a very special person!
Sincerely,
Jim
