Obituary of Joan Curry

Joan R. Curry 6/25/1939 - 2/2/2015 Canandaigua- Joan R. Curry went to be with our Lord and savior on February 2, 2015 after a long fought and courageous battle with Cancer at the age of 75. She was survived by her sister: Judy E. (Samu) Taumanupepe; nephews, Bruce Curry, Doug Curry, and Samu Taumanupepe III; niece, Kim Draghi; five grand-nephews and five grand-nieces. Joan lived in Houston, Texas with her sister’s family for the final year of her beautiful life as she received support and medical treatment at the TMC (Texas Medical Center) and Houston Northwest Medical Center. Joan Curry was a long time friend and resident of the Canandaigua area since moving there from Pennsylvania back in 1966. She attended Westminster College where she proudly received a bachelor’s degree in Science. After getting her degree she established a well earned and prosperous career at Zotos International in Geneva, NY as Director of Quality Control before retiring in 2010. Following her retirement Joan spent countless hours volunteering at different organizations like Mercy Flight, Ontario ARC, Sonnenberg Gardens and she was also a member of the Park and Recreation Board. This was her way to show appreciation and to give back to the community that she loved so much. Friends may call Wednesday, February 11, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 1 p.m. funeral service will be held Thursday, February 12, at the funeral home. Procession and final resting place will be held at Wood Lawn Cemetery.
