DOROTHY E. SIPPLE
Former Town of Hopewell resident, Dorothy Sipple,82, passed away on Sunday, January 4, at Crest Manor Living Center in Fairport.
Dorothy was born in Rochester, NY to the late William and Ellen Beardsley Caward. She was a 1950 graduate of Fairport High School and attended RBI (Class of 1951). She and her late husband, Elwin, built and operated the Exit 44 Motel. She was an active member of the Aloquin United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her stepdaughter Charlene Stauch and her stepson-in-law Elliot Cherne along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Elwin "Wimpy" Sipple in 2003, her stepdaughter Vaudeen Cherne in 2010, her sister-in-law Helena Caward, her brothers William and Robert and her sister Edith Rieck.
There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Aloquin United Methodist Church at a date and time to be announced. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Aloquin United Methodist Church, 2760 Rte. 5 & 20, Stanley, NY 14561.
