Daniel F. McCarthy
Chapel Hill, NC- Daniel McCarthy, passed away December 28, 2014 at his home.
Born November 17, 1944 in Rochester, NY, Dan was the son of late John and Mary Ellen Hegarty McCarthy.
He was a graduate of McQuaid High School, Georgetown University, and the Wharton School of Finance at University of Pennsylvania.
Dan served with the US Army during Vietnam, retiring as a captain. He also was a senior executive with Hess Corporation.
Dan is survived by wife, Shari Barth McCarthy; children, Molly (Tim) McCarthy Walsh, MD, of Chapel Hill, NC; Dan (Erin) McCarthy, Jr., of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Chris, Lauren, and Anna Walsh; Daniel III and Madalyn McCarthy. Dan also was the brother of Mary Catherine McCarthy of Canandaigua, NY; Sean McCarthy (Sally) of Staatsburg, NY; brother in-Law of Sue and Frank Staropoli of Rochester, NY, Chris and Roger Barth, of Bethesda, MD, and Phyllis and Dr. Eric Barth of Park Rapids, MN.
He was predeceased by brothers in-law, Phillip C. Barth, Jr., Reverend J. Robert Barth, S.J. and Karl E. Barth.
Friends may call Thursday, January 1, from 3-6 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 10 am funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 2, at St. Marys Church, 95 N. Main St. Canandaigua. Burial will be in Canandaiguas Woodlawn Cemetery.
