Marsha, We are so sorry to learn of George's passing. We'll always remember the daffodils and George's beautiful blue eyes. He was a kind man and I enjoyed working with him at Mobil and your kind invitations to your home in Shortsville.

It is very sad that we lost George. I knew him in recent years through his passion for running and was proud to present him and Marsha with an award at a race several years ago. He came to the Crosswinds 5K race last month to say hello to old friends. Although his body was failing, his spirit was remarkable. We will certainly miss him.

My condolences to George's family. I first met George many years ago when I was President of Ontario County Coin Club and as I recall he had "designed" some new coin holders that he intended to market. He was a true gentleman and quite knowledgeable in numismatics. A few memorable people cross your path as you wend your way in life and are remembered fondly. George was certainly one of them.

I would like to send my condolences even though I never met George. When I read the obit I recalled family in my geneology research of that name. I believe George and I are gggg grandchildren of Joseph Van Norman buried in the Woolhouse cemetery in Canandaigua. What a shame never to meet him.

My condolences go out to George's family, especially to my favorite inspiration: Marsha.
I will always remember George's smile and comments to me whenever he saw me running or at races. I always looked forward to seeing George and Marsha. He always brought a smile to my face.

George was an inspiration to many of us in the Greater Rochester running community. One of the first races I ran was the Phelps 20K which George directed. When I became race director for the Race with Grace 10K, I patterned many things after what George did for the Phelps race. When I ran my first marathon in 1986 in Montreal, George ran it at age 57 in 3:08 - very impressive. He will be greatly missed.

We are very sorry for your loss. I will miss his laughter and his positive outlook on so many issues.A race will hardly seem the same without him present, but he will be there in spirit. Take good care of yourself Marsha. I know you will be just fine.
