Your Father was such a kind hearted person. Never a bad word about anyone. One of the best gardens in Canandaigua. I will never forget Sam from when my ex Jim Crane worked with him at the City. My daughter's first 2 wheeled bike came from Sam as Melissa had outgrown it. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Some of my fondest memories growing up were the times I would visit Uncle Sammy and follow him around the garden with a paper bag as he filled it up. My thoughts and prayers are with his children and Uncle Cheech. Heaven's garden is going to look amazing.

Sam was a frequent guest on The Green Thumb, my parents' TV show on gardening. The programs would be taped in Sam's magnificent garden, and he would display his amazing crops. My dad, Doc Abraham, used to say that no one knew more about vegetable gardening than Sam, and that Sam's soil was a "work of art."
The two had a long friendship that spanned many harvest seasons. They traded seeds, swapped stories, and shared a love of all things "Garlic". They even tinkered with a garlic ice cream one summer!
Sam loved his family and every time I'd visit him he'd bring me up to date on all their accomplishments. Then he'd say, "Hey, I've got to show you something. . ." and that something might be a special bean he was growing, a new type of garlic, an apricot that was perfect, or a bug he'd vowed to eradicate from his garden. His curiosity was infectious -- and his generosity legendary. He was an original and anyone who knew him is blessed.
