Obituary of Francis Wardwell

Francis J. Wardwell Lake Mary FL. - Francis Wardwell, 96, passed away on March 31, 2013 in Lake Mary FL. Fran was born in Canandaigua to Anna and Frank Wardwell. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in 1976 as Assistant Postmaster after 41 years of service. Fran was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church; serving as an usher, on the Parish Council, and at the annual festival. He also was a member of The Fourth Degree and the Paul Lynch Assembly, in the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, honorary member of the American Legion and served on the City of Canandaigua’s Planning Council. Fran was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Helen Breen; and a granddaughter, Bree. He is survived by his sons, William (Diane), of Fl., James (Myra), of N.C.; daughter, Marianne (Jeremiah) Gorman, of Canandaigua; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Thursday April 4 from 4-7 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 2 p.m. funeral Mass will be held Friday April 5 at St. Mary’s Church.
