Dear Peter, we are all so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He had called me in July and was hoping to get together before I moved but with his surgery it never happened. He was a good man.
Fondly,
John, Karen, Carol and Brian Vattimo

I am so happy I made it to our reunion a couple of years ago and got the chance to talk with my dear cousin Manny. He always had a smile to share and was always questioning everything, he liked to make me think, the teacher in him went on during and after his teaching days. He will always be missed and thought of with a great deal of love.. I'm glad he's at rest now and with Paul and Rosemary in a much better place with no pain or worries. RIP Manny.

Mr. Vattimo was my 6th grade teacher at Lima High School. The boys in the class always challenged him about homework, they thought they didn't need it... Well a quiz would pop up and homework remained a popular tool.. lol I sent him a letter when i turned 40 remembering the days that have gone by.. and i will never forget the flying erasers, boy he knew how to shoot straight.. RIP great teacher of mine.

Mr. Vattimo (Manny) was my social studies and science teacher in 6th grade. He was such a great guy. He spoke frequently of his wife Rosemary and his sons Peter and Paul. He would crack us up with his antics. For instance when a student was acting up and he had had enough he wouldn't say a word he would just make this serious face and point his finger with what appeared to be all his might. He would point his finger at the offending student and then just as mightly point at the classroom door, all in complete silence and that meant that the student would have to very quickly leave the room and sit in the hall. After that we would all give him our full attention and do our best to behave. Another memory I have of Mr. Vattimo was if a kid was lying about something and Manny knew it he would always say "Ba.....loney". We would all try hard not to laugh. He really was hilarious and I learned alot from him. Take care Mr. Vattimo and thank you for all the funny memories!

So sorry to hear of Manny's passing.
While I didn't know Manny well, I was an email friend. When in grade school in Genseso, NY, prior to his moving away, in the 40s, I used to walk to school with him most days.
Later I encountered him a few times at Present Co. and we talked about past days.
Several years ago, in an email from a former coworker of mine, I saw the name Emanuel Vattimo and sent an email to him, to find out if he was my old grade school buddy. And he was, and have been exchanging emails with him since that time.
Bill
