Although I seldom bumped into Howard since we last played tennis together at TCR, the remainder of our tennis group often spoke of how we missed his participation. He brought energy, competitiveness and fair play to the game, which is what we always needed for our early 7:00 am court times. Although I will miss him ever more now, I will always remember him in a very positive way. Simply said, he was a very nice man.

I was fortunate to know Howard when I served as an adjunct at the Finger Lakes community in the late 80's and early 90's. I also was connected with the Academic Support department and the small group in that department became good friends and like a family. Howard was a good addition and I appreciated his dry sense of humor. He will be missed by his friends and colleagues. My condolences to all of his loved ones. Sincerely, Lois Saeger

I let out a gasp at work after reading the email from FLCC. Howard would've laughed at me doing that and would've then gave me a weird look! He is by far the best instructor I have had. I took a writing class with him last Spring. I learned a lot from him. You will be missed I'm sure by many, and will be missed by me as well! RIP Howard and may God bless your family during this difficult time.

We will miss your smile and your wonderful humor. God must have needed a beautiful voice in his choir to have called you home so soon. I can hear you laughing with Myron and Frank now. I can also hear Florence telling you all to settle down. May God smile down on everyone who will miss your laughter and light here on Earth.
