Obituary of Robert Frasca
Robert J. Frasca
Canandaigua- Robert Frasca, 78, of Chapel St. passed away after a brief hospitalization at Clifton Springs Hospital.
Born in Canandaigua, Bob thought there was no better place to live than here.
A 1952 graduate of Canandaigua Academy, he played football, basketball and ran track. His classmates knew him as blink.
Following graduation Bob served with the U.S. Army from 1953-1955.
He married Marjorie Schell at St. Marys Church in September 1955. They celebrated 45 years together before she passed away in 2001
In the late 50s Bob began working for his two brothers at Frasca Brothers Collision on Main St. He then opened his own shop on East Lake Rd. in the mid 80s. He continued to work until his retirement at age 73. Despite retirement he still enjoyed working and providing a hangout for friends and family to visit at his shop. He enjoyed his politics, fishing, taking care of and growing flowers, and being with friends and family. Bob loved classic country music and opera. He was an avid animal lover, having numerous cats and dogs throughout his life. Friends and family that knew him would say Bob had an opinionated personality but he was also known for his gentle heart and commitment to the community.
Bob was a prominent member of the Canandaigua Republican Committee for many years. He served on the Canandaigua City Planning commission from 1987-1992 and from 1994-1999. During his 1995-1997 terms he chaired the committee. Bob was so happy and proud to have the opportunity to preserve Canandaiguas architectural history.
