Dear Ron I remember when you use to have to walk me to school & Sister Gertrude yell at me for making us late for school! I never liked her after that. But some of my best memories are when I use to come to Va. Beach for a couple week each summer. I loved it so much there that I moved down there with you after I graduated. Although I had to move out of your house (caused I vacumed up the flea powder) it was still one of the greatest times of my life! The look on your face was priceless when you came to see the 2 room place I moved into, with a shared bathroom down the hall! It was scary there, but I think the giant cockroaches & waterbugs freaked me out more!!! Thank you for that experience. Its something I'll never forget! I'm so glad that I came to see you after Kim's baby shower. We didn't talk a lot, but you told me that "this is it kiddo". Our last words to each other were "I Love You" & I'm so glad we kinda said our goodbyes that day. God has taken you way to soon, and I'm gonna miss you dearly. Family funtions won't be the same without your laugh, and the wonderful way you told stories. That's one trait you passed on to Kimmy! She tells stories just like her Dad. Please hug & kiss Mom & Doug for me, watch over all of us, and one day we'll all be together again!!! Rest peacefully Ron....xoxoxo

To Ann, Kim, Allan, Steve, Bruce, Paul, Sharon, John and Marie. I'm having a hard time with Ron's passing like you are. Ron was a great man, a great friend, and all my experiences with him over the years are memories I'll never forget. We met at Holy Cross School. Well actually, Ron was a year ahead of me, Doug was in my class. I'm pretty sure all siblings in our familes went to school there. During the winters, we started playing hockey on a small pond behind Greece Lumber when we were young. Eventually, we graduated to play on the Latta Lea golf course pond with the likes of some good hockey players. Ray Whitmore, Bob Bird Alias Tweet, Eddy Bolger, and Elmore Surridge. We did night floods on the ice usually on Friday's in preparation for the weekend games. At this time, we played sunrise to sunset having the time of our life. As Bruce said in his note, when he played, Ron would keep a close eye on him. Sometimes Tweet would start getting a bit wild and most of us would back down I think because he was so big. Ronny wasn't afraid of him and he never let him get away with anything. Ron was like this his whole life.
When he lived on Ransford St. We repaired the engine in his Red work van. He didn't even hesitate to get into this job, an engine change. There was one time though that I think he was second guessing himself and me. We went down to Bully Hill camping in his pop-up for another opening day of Turkey hunting one year. We set up the camper, made dinner over the campfire and hit the sack. We woke up at the COD and it had snowed 8". It was the first weekend in May!!!!!!!! Ron looked at me and asked, what do you want to do? From the looks of the road to get down the hill, I think we both decided to get the hell out of dodge. We packed up and headed back home slowly going down the Bully Hill Road from what we call the T on top. It was slow ride home because nothing was plowed yet. Ron did a good job keeping both of us safe and the Red Van out of the ditch.
There was a time quite a few years ago when my father-in-law Bill Rodak needed a garage built at his cottage in the Thousand islands. Ron volunteered as well as his friend Gerry. Plans were set, materials on site, but the weather didn't cooperate. That didn't slow down Ron, a tarp went up, extension cords run, and we had that baby framed, sided and doors hung in the pouring rain by Sunday morning. Of course the sun came out when we were done.
These are just a few of the many memorable experiences I had with Ron, A very good friend who will be dearly missed.

Ron, I miss you so much already, like when you would go back to VA. in your Navy Days. I always dreaded saying good-bye then as I did Saturday night when I left you... I loved having our birthdays next to each other, and mine just won't seem the same anymore. I will miss your stories and the way you told them. You always made me laugh (and Mom too). But most of all I will miss your hugs. I love you Ron, give Mom and Doug a hug and kiss from me... Love you always...xo (peanut)

To all of the Rodak family, our love and prayers are with you. The Walzer side of the family always seemed to get together at your house. Maybe because you had the most kids at the time. Living so far from everyone has kept us from being close, but never far enough to be forgotten. Although way too soon, Ron is now back with Aunt Shirl and Doug, waiting for the rest of us. He will watch over Ann and the kids for sure. Just as Aunt Shirly and Doug have done. My prayers will continue for all of you. Love and miss you all. Cousin Pat Drews Fair

To my cousin Ronny, I'll never forget all the days and nights you spent building our beautiful family room 23 years ago. We shared so many laughs back then. And Mike was just remembering you and him sending Jeremy and his nephew Dave Rist up the hill in the southern tier, while you two shot the BS at the bottom. He's going to miss those days spent with you but he'll always cherish the memories of hunting with you and your hockey days on the pond when you were just kids being kids. May you have eternal peace Ron and give my MOM a big hug and kiss when you see her and tell her how much we miss her. Our deepest sympathies to Anne, Kim, Allen and Steven. May God Bless....Love your cousins, Mike and Linda Gorczynski

To Ron my big brother,
I want to thank you for all the times you were there to protect me when we were kids. Like the time Tweet's slapshot was headed for me on the pond at Latta Lea (Mike would remember that)or pulling me out of the water by the bridge because the ice was thinner there. In the summer we played a lot of golf at that course because of the membership Dad had. They threw us off a few times too.
As we grew older and started following Dad through the woods like most Rodak men were expected to do, I can remember our toes being so frozen from sitting that we thought they would fall off. Dad said just wiggle your toes, they'll warm up.
In recent years with Paul and the boys at our sides we shared the same worn out stories that Dad and the uncles have told about hunting trips for years. I always looked forward to the fall and our stays at the camp, not going to be the same this year. I hope that Alan, Steve , Keith and Josh continue to make new memories together in the woods as we did. Paul and I will need someone to drag the deer.
We'll all miss you down here but give Mom and Doug a hug for us.
Thanks Ron!
Bruce
